Official says Russian grain harvest can decrease 15–20% in 2018

MOSCOW, Jul 31 (PRIME) -- The grain harvest is to fall by 15–20% in 2018 compared to the 2017 bumper crop, when Russia harvested 135.4 million tonnes, Dmitry Kiktyov, acting director of Hydrometcenter weather forecasting service, said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“According to a forecast by Hydrometcenter, the grain harvest is expected to be 15–20% lower this year than last year. I need to say that last year’s harvest was record high,” Kiktyov said.

Last year's harvest included 85.9 million tonnes of wheat. End
